Yes. Every CLEP and DSST diagnostic on this page is completely free to take — no payment and no card required to start. You only need a free TransferCredit.org account if you want to download your full PDF report and personalized study plan.
The diagnostic gives you a directional readiness estimate based on how you perform across the core topics of each exam. It is not an official score, but it is a strong signal of whether you are ready to sit the real CLEP or DSST exam, and which topics still need work.
CLEP and DSST are both credit-by-exam programs accepted by thousands of colleges. CLEP exams are scored on a 20–80 scale and usually pass at 50. DSST exams are scored on a 200–500 scale and usually pass around 400. Both can earn you real college credit; the right one depends on your degree plan and which exam your school accepts.
You get a predicted score, a topic-by-topic breakdown showing your strong and weak areas, and an estimate of how many study hours you still need. You can then download a full PDF report, build a study plan in the Degree Planner, or enroll in CLEP or DSST prep for $29/month.
