About the college

About Technical Career Institutes

Technical Career Institutes was a private career-focused college in New York City, located in New York, NY, USA. It served students seeking practical, job-oriented education in an urban setting. The institution is no longer operating as an active college.

TCI was known for career and technical training rather than a broad liberal arts curriculum. Its offerings were centered on applied programs intended to prepare students for entry-level employment in specific fields. Because the school has closed, current program information is not available from the institution itself.

Transfer credit policy

How Transfer Credits Work at Technical Career Institutes

For transfer and credit-by-exam purposes, students should treat Technical Career Institutes as a closed institution and verify any prior coursework through official records. CLEP or transfer credit decisions would have depended on the receiving institution's policies, not on a current TCI catalog. Any evaluation of prior credits should be handled by the destination college or university.

Students may also have options involving CLEP®, DSST, AP, ACE, or NCCRS credits, depending on TCI's current policies. Not every alternative credit source is automatically accepted, so verify eligibility before completing a course or exam.

Approved credits may count toward general education, major requirements, electives, or other degree requirements depending on the evaluation. Technical Career Institutes transfer credits should therefore be reviewed against the specific degree program.

Transfer tip: Check your transfer credit evaluation and compare accepted credits with your Technical Career Institutes degree requirements before planning additional coursework.
