CLEP Credits at Memphis College of Art

Memphis College of Art was a private art college in Memphis, Tennessee. It was known for its focus on studio art and design education in an urban setting. The college ceased operations in 2020.

The school offered undergraduate and graduate study in visual arts disciplines, with strengths in studio-based learning and creative practice. Its curriculum centered on fine arts and design areas rather than a broad liberal arts catalog. Because it was a specialized art institution, program details were more limited and focused than at comprehensive universities.

For CLEP and transfer-credit purposes, Memphis College of Art should be treated as a closed institution. Students seeking to use prior credit, exam credit, or to obtain records would need to work through the institution's official records or successor arrangements, if available. Any current transfer or credit-by-exam policy would no longer be active because the college is no longer operating.

Students may also have options involving CLEP®, DSST, AP, ACE, or NCCRS credits, depending on Memphis College of Art's current policies. Not every alternative credit source is automatically accepted, so verify eligibility before completing a course or exam.

Approved credits may count toward general education, major requirements, electives, or other degree requirements depending on the evaluation. Memphis College of Art transfer credits should therefore be reviewed against the specific degree program.
