CLEP Credits at Belmont University

Belmont University is a private university in Nashville, Tennessee. It is located in the city’s Music Row area, close to downtown Nashville. The university is known for combining a campus setting with access to the city’s professional and cultural opportunities.

Belmont offers a wide range of undergraduate and graduate programs through several colleges and schools. It is especially well known for programs connected to music, business, health sciences, and the arts, and it also offers professional and pre-professional study in other fields. The university emphasizes experiential learning and career preparation.

For transfer and credit-by-exam students, Belmont evaluates prior college coursework and standardized exam credit through its academic policies. CLEP credit may be accepted when it aligns with Belmont’s published transfer and credit policies, but applicability depends on the exam, score, and the student’s program of study. Students should confirm current requirements with the university before relying on exam credit.

Students may also have options involving CLEP®, DSST, AP, ACE, or NCCRS credits, depending on BU's current policies. Not every alternative credit source is automatically accepted, so verify eligibility before completing a course or exam.

Approved credits may count toward general education, major requirements, electives, or other degree requirements depending on the evaluation. Belmont University transfer credits should therefore be reviewed against the specific degree program.
