CLEP Exams at Clarkson University

Clarkson University is a private university in Potsdam, New York, in the North Country region of upstate New York. It is known for its engineering, business, science, and health-related programs, and it also has a graduate and professional presence. The university serves students on its main campus in Potsdam and through additional academic offerings in other locations.

Clarkson offers a broad range of undergraduate and graduate study, with especially strong reputations in engineering, business, and applied science. The university emphasizes hands-on learning, research, and career preparation, and it is widely associated with STEM-focused education. Students can pursue programs across multiple schools and colleges within the university.

For transfer and credit-by-exam planning, Clarkson University is the kind of institution where policies are set at the university level and then applied by the registrar and academic departments. CLEP and other transfer-credit decisions are typically based on official evaluation of the exam, course content, and the student’s degree program. Because policies can vary by major and academic unit, students should confirm current acceptance rules directly with Clarkson before relying on exam credit.

Students may also have options involving CLEP®, DSST, AP, ACE, or NCCRS credits, depending on Clarkson's current policies. Not every alternative credit source is automatically accepted, so verify eligibility before completing a course or exam.

Approved credits may count toward general education, major requirements, electives, or other degree requirements depending on the evaluation. Clarkson University transfer credits should therefore be reviewed against the specific degree program.
