CLEP Credits at Chippewa Valley Technical College

Chippewa Valley Technical College is a public technical college based in Eau Claire, Wisconsin, with additional campuses and learning sites serving the surrounding region. It is part of Wisconsin’s technical college system and focuses on career-oriented education and workforce training. The college serves both recent high school graduates and adult learners seeking new skills or credentials.

CVTC offers associate degrees, technical diplomas, certificates, and customized training tied to regional employer needs. Its academic areas include health, business, information technology, public safety, manufacturing, transportation, and other applied fields. The college is known for hands-on instruction and programs designed to prepare students for immediate entry into the workforce or further study.

For CLEP and transfer-credit purposes, Chippewa Valley Technical College is a public two-year institution, so credit-by-exam and transfer decisions are typically handled through institutional policies and program requirements. Students should expect that acceptance of CLEP or other transfer credit depends on the specific course, score, and how the credit fits their program. Because policies can change, students should confirm current requirements with the college before relying on exam credit.

Students may also have options involving CLEP®, DSST, AP, ACE, or NCCRS credits, depending on CVTC's current policies. Not every alternative credit source is automatically accepted, so verify eligibility before completing a course or exam.

Approved credits may count toward general education, major requirements, electives, or other degree requirements depending on the evaluation. Chippewa Valley Technical College transfer credits should therefore be reviewed against the specific degree program.
