CLEP Exams at Southwest Mississippi Community College

Southwest Mississippi Community College is a public community college in Summit, Mississippi. It serves students from southwest Mississippi and the surrounding region. The college is part of Mississippi's public community college system.

The college offers associate degrees, career-technical education, and workforce training programs. It also provides transfer-oriented coursework for students planning to continue at four-year colleges and universities. As a community college, it serves both academic and applied learning goals.

Southwest Mississippi Community College participates in the broader transfer-credit environment common to community colleges, where students may use approved coursework and exam-based credit toward degree completion. CLEP credit acceptance can vary by institution and by subject, so students should confirm current policies with the college before relying on exam scores. For transfer planning, students typically need to match credits to program requirements and receiving-institution rules.

Students may also have options involving CLEP®, DSST, AP, ACE, or NCCRS credits, depending on SMCC's current policies. Not every alternative credit source is automatically accepted, so verify eligibility before completing a course or exam.

Approved credits may count toward general education, major requirements, electives, or other degree requirements depending on the evaluation. Southwest Mississippi Community College transfer credits should therefore be reviewed against the specific degree program.
