CLEP Exams at UMGC Asia (Sasebo NB)

UMGC Asia – Sasebo NB is a University of Maryland Global Campus location serving military-affiliated students in the Sasebo area of Japan. It is part of UMGC’s Asia division, which operates on and near U.S. military installations overseas. The campus is designed to support students who need flexible access to higher education while stationed abroad.

As a UMGC location, it offers access to the university’s broader online and hybrid academic offerings rather than a separate standalone catalog. UMGC is known for career-oriented undergraduate and graduate programs, especially in fields such as business, cybersecurity, information technology, and liberal arts. The university’s model emphasizes flexibility for adult learners and working students.

For CLEP and transfer credit purposes, UMGC is generally transfer-friendly and accepts a range of prior learning and exam-based credit when it meets university policy. Students at overseas locations such as Sasebo NB can typically use transfer credit, CLEP, and other approved credit sources to help satisfy degree requirements. Exact applicability depends on the student’s program, residency requirements, and the university’s current transfer policies.

Students may also have options involving CLEP®, DSST, AP, ACE, or NCCRS credits, depending on UMGC's current policies. Not every alternative credit source is automatically accepted, so verify eligibility before completing a course or exam.

Approved credits may count toward general education, major requirements, electives, or other degree requirements depending on the evaluation. UMGC Asia – Sasebo NB transfer credits should therefore be reviewed against the specific degree program.
