CLEP Credits at Piedmont International University

Piedmont International University was a private Christian university in Winston-Salem, North Carolina. The institution is now known as Carolina University, but it was historically located in Winston-Salem and operated under the Piedmont International University name for a period of time. It served students seeking faith-based higher education in a suburban North Carolina setting.

The university offered undergraduate and graduate study in a range of Christian and professional fields. Its academic identity emphasized biblical studies, ministry preparation, and other programs designed for students pursuing church, nonprofit, and marketplace vocations. Because program offerings changed over time, it is safest to describe the school broadly rather than list an exact catalog.

For CLEP and transfer-credit purposes, students should verify the institution name and catalog year that applied when the credit was earned or evaluated. As a private Christian university, Piedmont International University generally followed its own transfer and credit policies, and acceptance of exam-based credit depended on institutional rules, program requirements, and registrar review. Students considering CLEP credit should confirm whether the specific exam matched degree requirements and whether any minimum score or residency rule applied.

Students may also have options involving CLEP®, DSST, AP, ACE, or NCCRS credits, depending on PIU's current policies. Not every alternative credit source is automatically accepted, so verify eligibility before completing a course or exam.

Approved credits may count toward general education, major requirements, electives, or other degree requirements depending on the evaluation. Piedmont International University transfer credits should therefore be reviewed against the specific degree program.
