For CLEP and transfer credit purposes, Del Mar College is a community college that evaluates prior learning and transfer coursework through its established academic policies. Students interested in credit by examination should consult the college's current credit-by-exam and transfer guidelines, since acceptance depends on the specific exam, score, and program requirements. CLEP credit is typically handled through institutional review rather than automatic award for every exam.

Students may also have options involving CLEP®, DSST, AP, ACE, or NCCRS credits, depending on Del Mar's current policies. Not every alternative credit source is automatically accepted, so verify eligibility before completing a course or exam.

Approved credits may count toward general education, major requirements, electives, or other degree requirements depending on the evaluation. Del Mar College transfer credits should therefore be reviewed against the specific degree program.
