CLEP Exams at Pierpont Community and Technical College

Pierpont Community and Technical College is a public community and technical college in Fairmont, West Virginia. It serves students in north-central West Virginia and the surrounding region through career-focused and transfer-oriented education. The college is part of the West Virginia community and technical college system.

Pierpont offers associate degrees, certificates, and workforce training in a range of applied fields. Its academic offerings are designed to support students who want to enter the workforce directly or continue to a four-year institution. As a community and technical college, it emphasizes accessible, practical education and pathways to further study.

For students considering credit by exam or transfer credit, Pierpont is the kind of institution where those policies are typically important because many students arrive with prior learning, dual enrollment, or coursework from other colleges. CLEP and other exam-based credits are generally handled through institutional transfer and placement policies rather than a single universal rule. Students should confirm how specific exams apply to their intended program before registering.

Students may also have options involving CLEP®, DSST, AP, ACE, or NCCRS credits, depending on Pierpont's current policies. Not every alternative credit source is automatically accepted, so verify eligibility before completing a course or exam.

Approved credits may count toward general education, major requirements, electives, or other degree requirements depending on the evaluation. Pierpont Community and Technical College transfer credits should therefore be reviewed against the specific degree program.
