CLEP Credits at Central Michigan University

Central Michigan University is a public university in Mount Pleasant, Michigan. It serves students on its main campus and through additional locations and online offerings. The university is part of Michigan's public higher education system and is known for a broad mix of undergraduate and graduate study.

CMU offers a wide range of academic programs across fields such as business, education, health professions, the arts, sciences, and engineering-related areas. It is especially known for teacher education and for professional programs that serve students preparing for careers in public service, health care, and industry. The university also provides graduate and doctoral study in several disciplines.

For CLEP and transfer credit, Central Michigan University is generally transfer-friendly in the sense that it accepts evaluated prior learning and transfer coursework, but credit decisions depend on the specific exam, course, score, and degree program. Students should expect CLEP credit to be applied only when it matches CMU's published policies and academic requirements. Because policies can change, applicants should verify current exam and transfer-credit rules directly with the university before relying on them for degree planning.

Students may also have options involving CLEP®, DSST, AP, ACE, or NCCRS credits, depending on CMU's current policies. Not every alternative credit source is automatically accepted, so verify eligibility before completing a course or exam.

Approved credits may count toward general education, major requirements, electives, or other degree requirements depending on the evaluation. Central Michigan University transfer credits should therefore be reviewed against the specific degree program.
