CLEP Exams at Jarvis Christian College

Jarvis Christian College is a private historically Black college in Hawkins, Texas. It serves undergraduate students in a rural East Texas setting and is affiliated with the Christian Church (Disciples of Christ). The college is known for its small-campus environment and mission-centered approach to education.

Jarvis offers undergraduate study in a range of liberal arts, business, education, and science-related fields. As an HBCU, it emphasizes access, student support, and preparation for careers and graduate study. The college also provides a faith-based educational environment that is part of its institutional identity.

For CLEP and transfer-credit purposes, Jarvis Christian College should be treated as a college that evaluates prior learning through its own academic policies. Students seeking credit by examination or transfer credit should confirm in advance whether a specific exam or course will be accepted and how it will apply to their degree plan. Because policies can vary by department and program, the registrar or academic advising office is the best source for current guidance.

Students may also have options involving CLEP®, DSST, AP, ACE, or NCCRS credits, depending on JCC's current policies. Not every alternative credit source is automatically accepted, so verify eligibility before completing a course or exam.

Approved credits may count toward general education, major requirements, electives, or other degree requirements depending on the evaluation. Jarvis Christian College transfer credits should therefore be reviewed against the specific degree program.
