CLEP Credits at Oakwood University

Oakwood University is a private historically Black university in Huntsville, Alabama. It is affiliated with the Seventh-day Adventist Church and serves students in a faith-based higher-education environment. The university is located in the Tennessee Valley region of northern Alabama.

Oakwood offers undergraduate and graduate study across a range of academic areas, including liberal arts, sciences, business, education, and religion. It is known for its Adventist identity, emphasis on service, and campus community. Because program offerings can change, it is best to confirm current majors and concentrations directly with the university.

For CLEP and transfer-credit purposes, Oakwood University should be treated as a school that evaluates outside credit through its own academic policies. Students seeking CLEP credit or transfer credit should verify in advance whether a specific exam or course will apply to their intended program. Credit acceptance can depend on the subject, score, degree requirements, and residency rules.

Students may also have options involving CLEP®, DSST, AP, ACE, or NCCRS credits, depending on OU's current policies. Not every alternative credit source is automatically accepted, so verify eligibility before completing a course or exam.

Approved credits may count toward general education, major requirements, electives, or other degree requirements depending on the evaluation. Oakwood University transfer credits should therefore be reviewed against the specific degree program.
