Southern Arkansas University accepts transfer credit, and students may also be able to earn credit through examination depending on university policy. CLEP credit is commonly used at many colleges to demonstrate prior learning, but students should confirm how SAU applies specific exam scores to degree requirements. Credit acceptance can vary by course, program, and academic department.

Students may also have options involving CLEP®, DSST, AP, ACE, or NCCRS credits, depending on SAU's current policies. Not every alternative credit source is automatically accepted, so verify eligibility before completing a course or exam.

Approved credits may count toward general education, major requirements, electives, or other degree requirements depending on the evaluation. Southern Arkansas University transfer credits should therefore be reviewed against the specific degree program.
