    Questions students ask

What AP® score do I need for credit at University of Florida?

A 3. UF's catalog says: "Students completing approved AP examinations with scores of three or higher will earn UF credit." Some exams earn more with a 4 or 5; add your exams in the calculator above to see each one.

How much credit can one AP® exam earn at UF?

Up to 10 credits, for a 4 or 5 on Chinese or Japanese. Most exams earn 3 to 8 credits.

When do my AP® scores have to reach UF?

UF's catalog says: "Students beginning in the Fall or Spring term must have taken the exams and have their scores reported to the university before the end of their first term of enrollment at UF." Students who start in a summer term have their own deadline, so check the catalog page.

Do AP® credits count toward my GPA at UF?

No. "The transcript will reflect the course(s) with grades of P (for Pass). P grades will not be calculated into the student's GPA."

Do AP® language exams count for UF's language requirement?

For some colleges at UF: "Scores of three or higher on AP Chinese, French, German, Italian, Japanese, Latin, Russian, and Spanish language examinations fulfill the foreign language proficiency requirement for the College of Liberal Arts and Sciences, the College of Journalism and Communications, and BA programs in the College of the Arts."

    What if I score a 1 or 2?

UF gives no credit below a 3. You can retake the exam next May, take a CLEP® exam if UF accepts it, or take a self-paced course with an ACE or NCCRS credit recommendation. UF decides what counts, so ask before you enroll.

    Is AP® credit guaranteed?

No. UF sets its own policy and can change it. We copied this chart from UF's catalog on 29 Oct 2026; check the official page before you count on the credit.

Are these official AP® study guides?

No. AP® is a trademark registered by the College Board, which is not affiliated with, and does not endorse, these guides. TransferCredit.org is independent.
