Transfer credit policy

How Transfer Credits Work at Abilene Christian University

For transfer and credit-by-exam students, ACU evaluates prior college coursework and standardized exam credit through its academic policies. CLEP and other exam-based credits are typically considered as part of transfer evaluation, subject to university rules and degree requirements. Students should confirm current score requirements, course equivalencies, and any limits with the university before relying on exam credit.

Students may also have options involving CLEP®, DSST, AP, ACE, or NCCRS credits, depending on ACU's current policies. Not every alternative credit source is automatically accepted, so verify eligibility before completing a course or exam.

Approved credits may count toward general education, major requirements, electives, or other degree requirements depending on the evaluation. Abilene Christian University transfer credits should therefore be reviewed against the specific degree program.

Transfer tip: Check your transfer credit evaluation and compare accepted credits with your Abilene Christian University degree requirements before planning additional coursework.
