CLEP Credits at Butler University

Butler University is a private university in Indianapolis, Indiana. Its main campus is located on the north side of the city, and the university is known for combining a residential campus experience with access to a major metropolitan area.

Butler offers undergraduate, graduate, and professional study through several colleges and schools, with strengths in areas such as business, pharmacy, education, communication, and the arts and sciences. The university is also widely recognized for its emphasis on experiential learning, internships, and close faculty-student interaction.

For transfer and credit-by-exam purposes, Butler evaluates prior college coursework and may award transfer credit when courses are comparable to Butler offerings and meet institutional standards. CLEP credit may be considered under Butler's transfer and credit policies, but acceptance depends on the specific exam, score, and how the credit applies to a student's program.

Students may also have options involving CLEP®, DSST, AP, ACE, or NCCRS credits, depending on BU's current policies. Not every alternative credit source is automatically accepted, so verify eligibility before completing a course or exam.

Approved credits may count toward general education, major requirements, electives, or other degree requirements depending on the evaluation. Butler University transfer credits should therefore be reviewed against the specific degree program.
