CLEP Credits at California Lutheran University

California Lutheran University is a private university in Thousand Oaks, California, in Ventura County. It was founded in 1959 and is affiliated with the Evangelical Lutheran Church in America. The university serves undergraduate and graduate students in a suburban Southern California setting.

Cal Lutheran offers a broad range of undergraduate majors and graduate and professional programs through several schools and colleges. The university is known for a liberal arts foundation, small classes, and programs in areas such as business, education, psychology, sciences, and the arts. It also emphasizes experiential learning and close faculty interaction.

For CLEP and transfer-credit purposes, California Lutheran University is a private university that evaluates prior college-level learning through its own academic policies. Students seeking credit by exam or transfer credit should consult the university's current transfer and credit policies, since acceptance can depend on the subject, score, course equivalency, and degree program. The university's policies are the authoritative source for whether CLEP or other prior learning may apply.

Students may also have options involving CLEP®, DSST, AP, ACE, or NCCRS credits, depending on Cal Lutheran's current policies. Not every alternative credit source is automatically accepted, so verify eligibility before completing a course or exam.

Approved credits may count toward general education, major requirements, electives, or other degree requirements depending on the evaluation. California Lutheran University transfer credits should therefore be reviewed against the specific degree program.
