CLEP Exams at Northern State University

Northern State University is a public university in Aberdeen, South Dakota. It is part of the South Dakota public higher education system and serves students from the region and beyond. The campus is located in northeastern South Dakota.

Northern State University offers undergraduate and graduate study across a range of academic areas, including liberal arts, business, education, and the sciences. The university is known for its teacher education and for providing a broad public-university curriculum. Students can pursue both traditional campus-based study and applied learning opportunities.

For CLEP and transfer-credit purposes, Northern State University is a public university that accepts transfer coursework subject to institutional review. Credit-by-exam and transfer-credit decisions are typically governed by university policy and the requirements of the student’s program. Students should confirm how any CLEP score or outside credit applies before relying on it toward degree completion.

Students may also have options involving CLEP®, DSST, AP, ACE, or NCCRS credits, depending on NSU's current policies. Not every alternative credit source is automatically accepted, so verify eligibility before completing a course or exam.

Approved credits may count toward general education, major requirements, electives, or other degree requirements depending on the evaluation. Northern State University transfer credits should therefore be reviewed against the specific degree program.
