CLEP Credits at Saint Francis University

Saint Francis University is a private Catholic university in Loretto, Pennsylvania, in the Allegheny Mountains of central Pennsylvania. It is affiliated with the Franciscan tradition and serves undergraduate and graduate students on its main campus and through online offerings. The university emphasizes a values-based education rooted in service and community.

The university offers a broad range of academic programs across the arts and sciences, business, health professions, education, and other professional fields. Saint Francis is especially known for its health-related and pre-professional pathways, along with programs that support experiential learning and service-oriented study. Students can pursue both undergraduate and graduate study.

For CLEP and transfer-credit purposes, Saint Francis University is the kind of institution that typically evaluates prior learning through its registrar and academic departments rather than applying a single universal rule to every course. Credit awarded through CLEP, transfer coursework, or other prior learning is generally subject to institutional review, program requirements, and residency expectations. Students should confirm applicability with the university before relying on exam credit for degree planning.

Students may also have options involving CLEP®, DSST, AP, ACE, or NCCRS credits, depending on SFU's current policies. Not every alternative credit source is automatically accepted, so verify eligibility before completing a course or exam.

Approved credits may count toward general education, major requirements, electives, or other degree requirements depending on the evaluation. Saint Francis University transfer credits should therefore be reviewed against the specific degree program.
