CLEP Credits at St. Bonaventure University

St. Bonaventure University is a private Catholic university in Saint Bonaventure, New York, in the western part of the state. It is named for St. Bonaventure and is affiliated with the Franciscan tradition. The university serves undergraduate and graduate students in a residential campus setting.

The university offers a range of undergraduate majors and graduate programs through its schools and colleges, with strengths in liberal arts, business, education, communication, and health-related fields. St. Bonaventure is also known for its Franciscan values, close-knit campus community, and emphasis on service, ethics, and experiential learning.

For students considering CLEP or other transfer credit, St. Bonaventure University evaluates prior college-level learning through its official transfer and credit policies. Acceptance of exam-based credit can depend on the specific exam, score, and how the credit fits the student’s program requirements. Students should confirm current policies with the university before relying on CLEP credit for degree planning.

Students may also have options involving CLEP®, DSST, AP, ACE, or NCCRS credits, depending on SBU's current policies. Not every alternative credit source is automatically accepted, so verify eligibility before completing a course or exam.

Approved credits may count toward general education, major requirements, electives, or other degree requirements depending on the evaluation. St. Bonaventure University transfer credits should therefore be reviewed against the specific degree program.
