CLEP Credits at Hardin Simmons University

Hardin-Simmons University is a private Christian university in Abilene, Texas. It is affiliated with the Baptist tradition and serves students in a campus setting in West Texas. The university is known for combining a faith-based environment with a broad undergraduate and graduate offering.

Hardin-Simmons offers a range of academic programs across the arts and sciences, business, education, health-related fields, and professional studies. The university is also known for its teacher preparation, nursing, and ministry-related programs, along with opportunities for experiential learning and service. As a private university, it emphasizes close faculty interaction and a values-based educational experience.

For transfer and credit-by-exam students, Hardin-Simmons University evaluates prior college coursework and standardized exam credit through its own academic policies. CLEP and other transfer-credit options are typically handled through institutional review rather than automatic acceptance of every score or course. Students should confirm how specific exams or credits apply to their intended major before enrolling.

Students may also have options involving CLEP®, DSST, AP, ACE, or NCCRS credits, depending on HSU's current policies. Not every alternative credit source is automatically accepted, so verify eligibility before completing a course or exam.

Approved credits may count toward general education, major requirements, electives, or other degree requirements depending on the evaluation. Hardin-Simmons University transfer credits should therefore be reviewed against the specific degree program.
