CLEP Credits at Tennessee Technological University

Tennessee Technological University is a public university in Cookeville, Tennessee. It is commonly known as Tennessee Tech and serves students from across Tennessee and beyond. The university is part of the public higher-education system in the state.

Tennessee Tech offers a broad range of undergraduate and graduate study through its academic colleges. It is especially known for programs in engineering, agriculture, business, education, arts and sciences, and nursing. The university emphasizes applied learning, research, and preparation for professional careers.

For CLEP and transfer-credit purposes, Tennessee Tech is a public university that evaluates prior learning through its own academic policies. Students who have earned credit by examination or at another institution should expect those credits to be reviewed for applicability to their degree program. Acceptance depends on the university's transfer and credit policies, the subject area, and how the credit fits the student's curriculum.

Students may also have options involving CLEP®, DSST, AP, ACE, or NCCRS credits, depending on Tennessee Tech's current policies. Not every alternative credit source is automatically accepted, so verify eligibility before completing a course or exam.

Approved credits may count toward general education, major requirements, electives, or other degree requirements depending on the evaluation. Tennessee Technological University transfer credits should therefore be reviewed against the specific degree program.
