CLEP Exams at Berea College

Berea College is a private liberal arts college in Berea, Kentucky. It is known for its historic mission of providing a tuition-free education to students with financial need. The college is located in the Appalachian region and serves a residential undergraduate population.

Berea offers a liberal arts curriculum with undergraduate majors across the arts, humanities, social sciences, natural sciences, and professional fields. The college is especially known for its work-study model, commitment to service, and emphasis on access for students from low-income backgrounds. Its academic environment combines classroom study with labor and experiential learning.

Berea College accepts transfer credit and may award credit for approved examinations, but policies can vary by department and by the type of credit involved. CLEP and other credit-by-exam options are typically subject to institutional review rather than automatic acceptance. Students should consult the college's current transfer and registrar policies for the most accurate guidance.

Students may also have options involving CLEP®, DSST, AP, ACE, or NCCRS credits, depending on Berea College's current policies. Not every alternative credit source is automatically accepted, so verify eligibility before completing a course or exam.

Approved credits may count toward general education, major requirements, electives, or other degree requirements depending on the evaluation. Berea College transfer credits should therefore be reviewed against the specific degree program.
