CLEP Exams at Central Ohio Technical College

Central Ohio Technical College is a public technical college in Newark, Ohio, serving students in central Ohio. It is part of the Ohio public higher education system and is closely connected with the Newark campus area. The college focuses on accessible career-oriented education and transfer pathways.

COTC offers associate degrees and certificates in a range of applied and transfer-oriented fields. Its academic strengths are typically centered on workforce preparation, health sciences, business, public service, and technical programs. The college also supports students who plan to continue on to a bachelor's degree through transfer pathways.

For CLEP and transfer credit purposes, COTC is the kind of institution that commonly evaluates prior learning and exam-based credit within its own academic policies. Students interested in CLEP should confirm whether a specific exam applies to their program and how the score will be posted. Transfer credit decisions can vary by course, program, and degree requirements, so students should review the college's current credit policies before enrolling.

Students may also have options involving CLEP®, DSST, AP, ACE, or NCCRS credits, depending on COTC's current policies. Not every alternative credit source is automatically accepted, so verify eligibility before completing a course or exam.

Approved credits may count toward general education, major requirements, electives, or other degree requirements depending on the evaluation. Central Ohio Technical College transfer credits should therefore be reviewed against the specific degree program.
