CLEP Exams at Eckerd College

Eckerd College is a private liberal arts college in St. Petersburg, Florida, on the Gulf Coast of the United States. It is known for its waterfront setting and undergraduate-focused campus experience. The college emphasizes close faculty-student interaction and a residential learning environment.

Eckerd offers a broad liberal arts curriculum with undergraduate majors across the sciences, humanities, social sciences, and interdisciplinary fields. The college is also known for experiential learning, including study away, internships, research, and community engagement. Its marine and environmental strengths are especially notable given its coastal location.

For CLEP and transfer credit, Eckerd College evaluates prior college-level learning through its own transfer and credit policies rather than automatically accepting every exam or course. Students should expect credit decisions to depend on the specific exam, course content, score, and how the credit fits the degree program. The college’s policies are best confirmed directly through its official transfer credit and registrar resources.

Students may also have options involving CLEP®, DSST, AP, ACE, or NCCRS credits, depending on Eckerd's current policies. Not every alternative credit source is automatically accepted, so verify eligibility before completing a course or exam.

Approved credits may count toward general education, major requirements, electives, or other degree requirements depending on the evaluation. Eckerd College transfer credits should therefore be reviewed against the specific degree program.
