CLEP Exams at Hope College

Hope College is a private liberal arts college in Holland, Michigan. It is affiliated with the Reformed Church in America and serves undergraduate students in a residential campus setting. The college is known for combining a Christian liberal arts tradition with a broad range of academic and co-curricular opportunities.

Hope offers undergraduate study across the arts and humanities, social sciences, natural sciences, and professional fields. The college is especially known for its strong emphasis on undergraduate research, study abroad, and experiential learning. Students can pursue a variety of majors and pre-professional pathways within a small-college environment.

Hope College accepts transfer credit and has policies for evaluating credit earned through examination, including CLEP, subject to institutional review. Credit acceptance depends on the specific exam, score, and how the credit fits the student’s program. Students should consult Hope’s official transfer and registrar guidance for current rules before relying on exam credit.

Students may also have options involving CLEP®, DSST, AP, ACE, or NCCRS credits, depending on Hope's current policies. Not every alternative credit source is automatically accepted, so verify eligibility before completing a course or exam.

Approved credits may count toward general education, major requirements, electives, or other degree requirements depending on the evaluation. Hope College transfer credits should therefore be reviewed against the specific degree program.
