CLEP Exams at Luther College

Luther College is a private liberal arts college in Decorah, Iowa. It is affiliated with the Evangelical Lutheran Church in America and serves undergraduate students in a residential campus setting. The college is known for its scenic Northeast Iowa location and strong campus community.

Luther offers a broad liberal arts curriculum with undergraduate majors, minors, and pre-professional pathways. The college is especially known for programs in the arts, humanities, natural sciences, and music, and it emphasizes study abroad, undergraduate research, and experiential learning. Its Nordic heritage and music traditions are also notable parts of campus identity.

For CLEP and transfer-credit purposes, Luther College evaluates outside credit through its own academic policies rather than automatically accepting all exam or transfer work. Students should expect credit decisions to depend on the specific exam, course content, score, and how the credit fits Luther requirements. The safest approach is to confirm current policies directly with the college before relying on CLEP or transfer credit for degree planning.

Students may also have options involving CLEP®, DSST, AP, ACE, or NCCRS credits, depending on Luther's current policies. Not every alternative credit source is automatically accepted, so verify eligibility before completing a course or exam.

Approved credits may count toward general education, major requirements, electives, or other degree requirements depending on the evaluation. Luther College transfer credits should therefore be reviewed against the specific degree program.
