CLEP Exams at New Mexico Military Institute

New Mexico Military Institute is a public military junior college in Roswell, New Mexico. It serves students in a structured military-style environment and is one of the best-known military schools in the United States. The institute is located in southeastern New Mexico and operates as a two-year college.

NMMI offers associate degree and college-preparatory pathways, with academic work that supports transfer as well as military and leadership development. Its curriculum includes general education and career-oriented study, and the school is known for combining academics with a disciplined residential environment. Because it is a junior college, many students use it as a stepping stone to four-year institutions or military service.

For CLEP and transfer credit purposes, NMMI is a college that evaluates prior learning through its own academic policies rather than a one-size-fits-all approach. Students should expect credit decisions to depend on the specific exam, score, and how the credit fits the institute's curriculum. The most reliable source for current CLEP acceptance and transfer rules is NMMI's official academic or registrar information.

Students may also have options involving CLEP®, DSST, AP, ACE, or NCCRS credits, depending on NMMI's current policies. Not every alternative credit source is automatically accepted, so verify eligibility before completing a course or exam.

Approved credits may count toward general education, major requirements, electives, or other degree requirements depending on the evaluation. New Mexico Military Institute transfer credits should therefore be reviewed against the specific degree program.
