CLEP Exams at Otero Junior College

Otero Junior College is a public community college in La Junta, Colorado, serving students in southeastern Colorado and the surrounding region. It is part of the Colorado Community College System and offers a campus-based college experience in a small-city setting.

The college provides associate degrees, certificates, and transfer-oriented coursework across a range of academic and career and technical fields. Like many community colleges, Otero Junior College is designed to support both students planning to transfer to a four-year institution and those seeking workforce preparation.

For CLEP and transfer-credit purposes, Otero Junior College is a practical option for students who want to use prior learning or exam-based credit toward a degree. Because it is a public community college, students should expect credit acceptance to depend on the college's official policies, the specific exam or course, and how the credit fits into the chosen program.

Students may also have options involving CLEP®, DSST, AP, ACE, or NCCRS credits, depending on OJC's current policies. Not every alternative credit source is automatically accepted, so verify eligibility before completing a course or exam.

Approved credits may count toward general education, major requirements, electives, or other degree requirements depending on the evaluation. Otero Junior College transfer credits should therefore be reviewed against the specific degree program.
