CLEP Exams at Viterbo University

Viterbo University is a private Catholic university in La Crosse, Wisconsin. It is sponsored by the Franciscan Sisters of Perpetual Adoration and serves students in a campus setting on the city’s west side. The university emphasizes a values-based education rooted in the Franciscan tradition.

Viterbo offers undergraduate and graduate study across a range of fields, including arts and sciences, business, education, nursing, and health-related programs. It is especially known for professional preparation and for programs that combine classroom learning with practical experience. The university also has a strong connection to the performing arts through its campus arts facilities and related programs.

For CLEP and transfer credit purposes, Viterbo University is a private institution that evaluates prior college-level learning through its own transfer and credit policies. Students who have taken CLEP exams or coursework elsewhere should expect credit decisions to depend on the university’s published policies, the score earned, and how the credit fits the intended program. Because policies can change, students should confirm current acceptance details directly with the university before relying on exam credit for degree planning.

Students may also have options involving CLEP®, DSST, AP, ACE, or NCCRS credits, depending on Viterbo University's current policies. Not every alternative credit source is automatically accepted, so verify eligibility before completing a course or exam.

Approved credits may count toward general education, major requirements, electives, or other degree requirements depending on the evaluation. Viterbo University transfer credits should therefore be reviewed against the specific degree program.
