CLEP Exams at York Technical College

York Technical College is a public community college in Rock Hill, South Carolina. It serves students in York County and the surrounding region through credit and noncredit education. The college is part of the South Carolina Technical College System.

The college offers associate degrees, diplomas, and certificates in a range of career and transfer-oriented fields. Its academic offerings are designed to support workforce preparation as well as pathways to four-year institutions. As a technical college, it emphasizes applied learning and access to higher education.

York Technical College participates in the broader transfer-credit environment common to community colleges, where students may use prior learning, exam credit, and coursework toward degree requirements when approved by the institution. For CLEP specifically, students should confirm how scores apply to their intended program and whether the credit fits general education or elective requirements. Policies can vary by department and by the receiving institution.

Students may also have options involving CLEP®, DSST, AP, ACE, or NCCRS credits, depending on York Tech's current policies. Not every alternative credit source is automatically accepted, so verify eligibility before completing a course or exam.

Approved credits may count toward general education, major requirements, electives, or other degree requirements depending on the evaluation. York Technical College transfer credits should therefore be reviewed against the specific degree program.
