CLEP Credits at Mount Saint Marys University

Mount St. Mary's University is a private Catholic university in Emmitsburg, Maryland, in the United States. It is located near the Catoctin Mountains and is known for its historic campus and religious heritage. The university serves undergraduate and graduate students in a small-college setting.

The university offers a range of undergraduate majors and graduate programs across liberal arts, sciences, business, education, and health-related fields. It is especially known for its Catholic identity, pre-professional preparation, and close faculty-student interaction. Students can pursue both traditional classroom study and experiential learning opportunities.

For CLEP and transfer-credit purposes, Mount St. Mary's University is a private institution that evaluates prior learning through its own academic policies. Students seeking credit by examination or transfer credit should consult the university's official transfer and registrar guidance before enrolling. Acceptance of CLEP or other exam-based credit can vary by course, score, and degree program.

Students may also have options involving CLEP®, DSST, AP, ACE, or NCCRS credits, depending on MSMU's current policies. Not every alternative credit source is automatically accepted, so verify eligibility before completing a course or exam.

Approved credits may count toward general education, major requirements, electives, or other degree requirements depending on the evaluation. Mount Saint Marys University transfer credits should therefore be reviewed against the specific degree program.
