CLEP Exams at Rio Hondo College

Rio Hondo College is a public community college in Whittier, California, serving students in the greater Los Angeles area. It is part of the California Community Colleges system and offers open-access higher education and workforce training opportunities.

The college offers associate degrees, certificates, transfer preparation, and career-focused programs across a range of academic and technical fields. It is known for serving transfer students and for providing pathways into both four-year universities and local employment.

For CLEP and transfer-credit purposes, Rio Hondo College is a community college that evaluates prior learning and outside coursework through its established academic policies. Students seeking credit by exam or transfer credit should consult the college's current catalog and admissions or records office for the most accurate guidance on accepted exams, minimum scores, and posting procedures.

Students may also have options involving CLEP®, DSST, AP, ACE, or NCCRS credits, depending on Rio Hondo's current policies. Not every alternative credit source is automatically accepted, so verify eligibility before completing a course or exam.

Approved credits may count toward general education, major requirements, electives, or other degree requirements depending on the evaluation. Rio Hondo College transfer credits should therefore be reviewed against the specific degree program.
