CLEP Credits at Spelman College

Spelman College is a private historically Black liberal arts college for women in Atlanta, Georgia. It is part of the Atlanta University Center consortium and is known for its strong undergraduate focus and long-standing role in educating Black women.

Spelman offers undergraduate liberal arts and sciences programs across a range of disciplines, with strengths in the humanities, social sciences, natural sciences, and interdisciplinary study. The college is widely recognized for academic excellence, leadership development, and preparation for graduate and professional study.

For CLEP and transfer credit, students should consult Spelman College's current transfer and credit policies before relying on exam or outside coursework. Credit acceptance can depend on the subject, score, course equivalency, and degree requirements, so policies may vary by department and academic program.

Students may also have options involving CLEP®, DSST, AP, ACE, or NCCRS credits, depending on Spelman's current policies. Not every alternative credit source is automatically accepted, so verify eligibility before completing a course or exam.

Approved credits may count toward general education, major requirements, electives, or other degree requirements depending on the evaluation. Spelman College transfer credits should therefore be reviewed against the specific degree program.
