CLEP Credits at Eastern Kentucky University

Eastern Kentucky University is a public university in Richmond, Kentucky, with additional regional presence in the state. It serves students through a broad mix of undergraduate, graduate, and professional offerings. The university is known for its strong connection to Kentucky and for serving both traditional and adult learners.

EKU offers a wide range of academic programs across multiple colleges and schools, including liberal arts, business, education, health sciences, and technology-related fields. It is especially recognized for programs tied to public service, teacher preparation, and applied professional study. Students can pursue both campus-based and online options in many areas.

Eastern Kentucky University accepts transfer credit and may award credit for prior learning or examination-based work when it fits university policy. CLEP credit is part of the broader transfer-credit conversation at EKU, but acceptance depends on the specific exam, score, and how the credit applies to a student’s program. Students should review EKU’s current transfer and credit-by-exam policies before relying on any exam for degree progress.

Students may also have options involving CLEP®, DSST, AP, ACE, or NCCRS credits, depending on EKU's current policies. Not every alternative credit source is automatically accepted, so verify eligibility before completing a course or exam.

Approved credits may count toward general education, major requirements, electives, or other degree requirements depending on the evaluation. Eastern Kentucky University transfer credits should therefore be reviewed against the specific degree program.
