CLEP Exams at International Sports Sciences Association

International Sports Sciences Association (ISSA) is a private education provider based in Santa Barbara, California. It is best known for offering distance-learning and online training in fitness, nutrition, and related wellness fields. The organization serves adult learners and professionals seeking industry-focused credentials rather than traditional academic degrees.

ISSA’s offerings center on personal training, nutrition, strength and conditioning, and other fitness-specialty certifications and courses. Its programs are designed for practical career preparation in the health and fitness industry. Because its catalog is specialized, the school is often associated with professional certification and continuing education rather than a broad undergraduate curriculum.

For CLEP and transfer-credit purposes, ISSA should be treated cautiously because it is not a conventional college or university with a standard transcripted degree structure. Credit-by-exam and transfer policies are typically determined by the receiving institution, not by ISSA itself. Students should verify whether any ISSA coursework or credentials will be recognized by the school or employer they are working with.

Students may also have options involving CLEP®, DSST, AP, ACE, or NCCRS credits, depending on ISSA's current policies. Not every alternative credit source is automatically accepted, so verify eligibility before completing a course or exam.

Approved credits may count toward general education, major requirements, electives, or other degree requirements depending on the evaluation. International Sports Sciences Association transfer credits should therefore be reviewed against the specific degree program.
