CLEP Exams at Lake Erie College

Lake Erie College is a private liberal arts college in Painesville, Ohio, in the northeastern part of the state near Lake Erie. The college serves undergraduate and graduate students and is known for a small-college environment. Its campus is located in Lake County, within the Greater Cleveland region.

The college offers a range of undergraduate majors and graduate programs across the arts and sciences, business, education, and equine-related study. Lake Erie College is especially known for its equine studies offerings and for combining classroom learning with practical experience. As a liberal arts institution, it emphasizes broad-based academic preparation alongside professional study.

For CLEP and transfer-credit purposes, Lake Erie College is the kind of institution that typically evaluates prior learning through its registrar and academic policies rather than applying a one-size-fits-all rule. Credit awarded through CLEP, transfer coursework, or other external sources is generally subject to institutional review and degree applicability. Students should confirm current policies directly with the college before relying on exam or transfer credit for a specific program.

Students may also have options involving CLEP®, DSST, AP, ACE, or NCCRS credits, depending on LEC's current policies. Not every alternative credit source is automatically accepted, so verify eligibility before completing a course or exam.

Approved credits may count toward general education, major requirements, electives, or other degree requirements depending on the evaluation. Lake Erie College transfer credits should therefore be reviewed against the specific degree program.
