CLEP Exams at Lees McRae College

Lees-McRae College is a private liberal arts college in Banner Elk, North Carolina, in the Blue Ridge Mountains. It is a small residential college that serves undergraduate students in a mountain setting. The college is known for its close-knit campus community and outdoor surroundings.

The college offers undergraduate programs across a range of liberal arts and professional fields, including business, education, health-related areas, and the sciences. It is also known for programs connected to the outdoors and mountain environment. As with many small colleges, students can expect a personalized academic experience and opportunities for close faculty interaction.

For CLEP and transfer-credit purposes, Lees-McRae College is the kind of institution that typically evaluates prior learning through its own transfer and credit policies rather than automatically accepting every exam or course. Students interested in using CLEP scores or transferring coursework should confirm in advance how specific credits will apply to their intended major. Policies can vary by department, course equivalency, and residency requirements.

Students may also have options involving CLEP®, DSST, AP, ACE, or NCCRS credits, depending on LMC's current policies. Not every alternative credit source is automatically accepted, so verify eligibility before completing a course or exam.

Approved credits may count toward general education, major requirements, electives, or other degree requirements depending on the evaluation. Lees-McRae College transfer credits should therefore be reviewed against the specific degree program.
