CLEP Credits at Loras College

Loras College is a private Catholic liberal arts college in Dubuque, Iowa. It is located in the Archdiocese of Dubuque and serves undergraduate students in a residential college setting. The college is known for its liberal arts tradition and close-knit campus environment.

Loras offers a broad range of undergraduate programs across the arts, humanities, social sciences, natural sciences, business, education, and pre-professional areas. The college also emphasizes experiential learning, internships, and undergraduate research. Its Catholic identity and liberal arts mission are central to the student experience.

For CLEP and transfer-credit purposes, Loras College is the kind of institution that typically evaluates prior learning through established academic policies rather than granting blanket credit automatically. Students interested in CLEP, AP, IB, or transfer coursework should expect credit decisions to depend on the specific exam, course, score, and how the credit fits the degree program. The safest approach is to confirm current policies directly with the college before testing or transferring credits.

Students may also have options involving CLEP®, DSST, AP, ACE, or NCCRS credits, depending on Loras College's current policies. Not every alternative credit source is automatically accepted, so verify eligibility before completing a course or exam.

Approved credits may count toward general education, major requirements, electives, or other degree requirements depending on the evaluation. Loras College transfer credits should therefore be reviewed against the specific degree program.
