UMGC is especially known for online and hybrid delivery, which supports students who need scheduling flexibility.

For CLEP and transfer-credit purposes, UMGC is generally considered transfer-friendly and accepts a range of prior learning and exam-based credit when it fits degree requirements. Students should verify how CLEP, AP, military training, and other transfer credits apply to a specific program before enrolling. Credit acceptance can vary by course equivalency, degree plan, and residency requirements.

Students may also have options involving CLEP®, DSST, AP, ACE, or NCCRS credits, depending on UMGC's current policies. Not every alternative credit source is automatically accepted, so verify eligibility before completing a course or exam.

Approved credits may count toward general education, major requirements, electives, or other degree requirements depending on the evaluation. UMGC Europe - Al Dhafra transfer credits should therefore be reviewed against the specific degree program.
