The university is known for flexible online and hybrid delivery designed for working adults, service members, and students studying from abroad. Program availability can vary by location and modality.

For CLEP and transfer credit purposes, UMGC is generally transfer-friendly and accepts a range of prior learning and exam-based credit when it fits degree requirements. Students should confirm how CLEP, military training, and other transfer credits apply to their specific program and location. Policies can differ by course, major, and residency requirements.

Students may also have options involving CLEP®, DSST, AP, ACE, or NCCRS credits, depending on UMGC's current policies. Not every alternative credit source is automatically accepted, so verify eligibility before completing a course or exam.

Approved credits may count toward general education, major requirements, electives, or other degree requirements depending on the evaluation. UMGC Europe - Camp Al Saliyah transfer credits should therefore be reviewed against the specific degree program.
