UMGC Europe - Rota is a European location of the University of Maryland Global Campus, a public university that serves military-connected and adult learners. The Rota site is associated with the U.S. Navy presence in Rota, Spain, and supports students in the Europe region. UMGC is headquartered in Adelphi, Maryland, and offers instruction through a global network of locations and online delivery.

UMGC offers undergraduate and graduate study in a wide range of career-oriented fields, including business, cybersecurity, information technology, health-related areas, and liberal arts. The university is known for serving working adults and military students with flexible scheduling and online coursework. Specific offerings available through the Rota location can vary by term and student need.

For CLEP and transfer credit purposes, UMGC is generally transfer-friendly and commonly serves students who bring in prior college coursework, military training, or exam-based credit. Students should confirm how any CLEP score or transfer course applies to their intended program before enrolling. Credit acceptance can depend on the exact exam, score, course equivalency, and degree requirements.

Students may also have options involving CLEP®, DSST, AP, ACE, or NCCRS credits, depending on UMGC Europe's current policies. Not every alternative credit source is automatically accepted, so verify eligibility before completing a course or exam.

Approved credits may count toward general education, major requirements, electives, or other degree requirements depending on the evaluation. UMGC Europe - Rota transfer credits should therefore be reviewed against the specific degree program.
